Primary Purpose: The VP Digital and Marketing Systems will directly oversee all aspects of the Digital Media, E-Commerce and Customer Marketing systems. The VP Digital and Marketing Systems will report directly to the VP Retail Systems. Other direct reports to the VP Retail Systems include: DVP Store Systems and DVP Retail Applications.

  • Rapidly gain an understanding of the company’s business plans, current technology environment, software products and management processes.
  • Provide strategy development and provide leadership in the achievement of the technology objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day management of the Digital and CRM Teams to ensure service level agreements are achieved.
  • Further develop the organization to ensure enhancement of our ability to deliver large initiatives and increase service offerings in Digital Media and Marketing.

This position will oversee the following key systems and strategic partnerships:

  • WebSphere Commerce 
  • Regional Third Party E-Commerce Platforms
  • Global On-line Marketing and Brand Awareness programs
  • Global Clienteling applications
  • Global Marketing Service Providers

This candidate must be a proven strategist who can roll up his/her sleeves and drive execution, inspire a team and lead by example, possessing the following skills:

  • Experienced in online technology management, ranging from IT platforming to order apps, order processing & fulfillment, forecasting and inventory management.
  • Understanding of how to utilize analytics to provide strategic recommendations
  • Proficient in online acquisitions initiatives including SEO, SEM, paid search, affiliate, CPA, email and other media
  • Proficient in customer retention initiatives, including email, site merchandising, customization, and other onboarding tools
  • Experience with multiple software applications to enhance the customer experience, including customer reviews, live chat, search functionality, mobility, social media etc.
  • Understanding of marketing and operational databases, segmentation and suppression strategies
  • Effective and influential spoken, written, electronic and presentation skills essential with employees, vendors and cross-functional teams at all levels
  • Experience with replatforming a website is a major plus

Job responsibilities:

  • Operational budgeting and team management experience 
  • Management of the Ecommerce, CRM and related Implementation teams
  • Partner with business team to drive and execute site usability strategy
  • Development and execution of core search engine strategy (paid and organic)
  • Development of acquisition and retention programs for various customer types, product segments, etc.
  • Vendor Management: identify, manage, negotiate and evaluate ongoing web hosting, marketing alliances and strategic partnerships
  • Acts as a liaison between IS department and outside vendors for development and maintenance of the web site
  • Works with the Executive Management team to define the corporate e-commerce and CRM strategies
  • Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of all existing operations and current needs based on new technology and market competition
  • Oversees the day-to-day technical aspects of e-commerce operations, maintenance, and performance measurement of the company web sites

  • 15+ Years of experience required
  • Proven experience managing a team including strong coaching skills with a focus on people development
  • E-Commerce and CRM Systems strategy development
  • E-Commerce Technology models and Retail industry (trends, competitors, distribution channels, customer base, promotion, and products)
  • Web technologies, web programming languages, web page design/layout, and web site performance measurement
  • The e-Commerce and Customer Marketing framework and features specific to the retail industry
  • MSP, ESP and Marketing Analytics relationships
